Millions are pouring 🫗

Hey Reader,

Two headlines found their way to me this month, which says a lot for someone who lives a mostly TV free life, and together they paint a vivid picture of where so many of us are standing right now.

The first comes from the Census Bureau. More Americans applied to start a business in the first half of 2026 than in any first half on record, with more than three million applications filed by midyear. Most of these are one person businesses, someone taking a skill, an idea or a talent they already carried and turning it into income, and the reporting points to layoffs, cheaper tools and a growing hunger to own our time.

The second is a national survey on side hustles. About 28% of Americans now have one, and 80% of those people started it out of financial necessity, with more than half needing money for bills and essentials and only 9% starting it as a passion project. Put those two together and we see millions of people pouring something brand new into the world at the same moment, often with their backs against the wall, and I find that deeply beautiful.

This one hit home, because my business and brand were also born out of financial necessity. Here’s what my season of “necessary entrepreneurship” taught me: working harder from fear tends to multiply the fear. I actually recorded a video about it just last year...

More hustle is the answer the world keeps handing us, and the better question, the one that changes everything, is "how can I be of more and better service".. in other words.. where are we pouring from?

Before our next money decision, whether it’s a purchase, a price, a pitch or a new idea, let’s pause and ask ourselves three things:

  1. Does this choice feel open in the body, or tight and urgent?
  2. Am I building from what I already have, or chasing what I think I lack?
  3. If I fully trusted God’s provision, would I still make this choice?

Let the body answer first, before the mind starts negotiating.

There’s a woman in Second Kings (2 Kings - 4:1-7) who faced more financial pressure than most of us ever will, with a creditor on his way to take her sons, and the very first thing she was asked was what she already had in her house. Her answer was one small jar of oil. What happened when she started pouring is one of my favorite stories in all of scripture, and it speaks directly to every one of those three million new businesses, every side hustle started to keep the lights on, and every one of us trying to feel steady with money right now.

This Sunday at 4 pm Eastern, we’re opening that jar together inside the Quantum Prayer Circle. We’ll walk through her story, take an honest inventory of what’s already in our house, and practice building from provision instead of panic. We'd love to have you.

Have a spectacular week,

With so much love, Meg

Hi Reader, Before this week, I had never hosted an international retreat. I had attended retreats, led groups, facilitated transformation, and held space for people in many different ways, but producing and leading an international retreat was entirely new territory for me. I could have used my lack of experience as a reason to keep postponing the vision, but I trusted my ability to organize, lead, solve problems, and adjust when necessary. The only way to become experienced was to host the...

Hi Reader, There is a question worth asking ourselves because the answer can shed light on how we can serve and how we create impact and income from our gifts. In 2 Kings 4, a widow goes to Elisha under very real pressure. Her husband has died, debt remains, and a creditor is coming to take her two sons as payment. Her mind is naturally fixed on what she is about to lose, but Elisha redirects her attention with one question. “What do you have in your house?” Her first response is almost...

Hi Reader, I was reflecting on myself and the people who I am in community with.. We know how to be productive. We know how to hit the goal, close the deal, deliver the result, and keep every plate spinning while everyone around us wonders how we do it all. Achievement has always been our standard so it can begin to feel like it comes naturally to us. We built an identity around proving our worth through output, and the more we accomplished, the more we tied our value to the next...
